| Hi, I'm new to Ovation, And I just got this guitar via the net. I bought it over the net because nobody near me had this model. I really want to love this guitar. But I'm a little on the fence after unpacking this one. I've played other Ovations that I've really liked. This one out of the box, needs a little action tweak. That part seems easy enough to do myself. I've adjusted truss rods and sanded down saddles on my other guitars. It seems that Ovations come with shims under the saddle? Are those easy enough to get to with out harming the piezo?
Next when plugged in the vol slider has a pretty bad crackling noise when moved up or down. Like the sound a bad cable makes. Could a dying battery cause that.
Thanks in advance. |

The shims are easy. Just loosen the strings, raise the saddle and remove the shim. I've done this many times with the strings still on. |

| Thanks for your help. I had suspected that this might be the problem. But this is a brand new guitar. Could I just find a ovation cert. guitar shop and switch out the OP 30? |
