Location: Parkersburg, WV | I've just begun looking at acoustic amps in some of the catalogs. Based on descriptions the Behringer ACX1000 seems to be a good value at about $300.00. The topic of Behringer amps came up in previous posts and the comments from some of the regulars was negative. Can anyone be more specific on why. My needs require an acoustic amp that can fill a living room not a concert hall with as many "bells and whistles" so I can get the most sound options from my acoustic electrics. Any opinions and possibly other options in this price range would be appreciated.

Location: Scotland | Patsbro, a friend of mine was given one of these acoustic amps by Behringer while he was on tour in Germany, he said "thanks very much" & sold it as soon as he got back to the UK, basically because it just wasn't up to the job. There's nothing as well spec'd for the money, but I'd be cautious. If that's your price range you'd be better off buying used gear. I'm a big fan of Behringer, but every amplifier of theirs I've heard or tried has left me cold. |
