This is a good place to report that our Norseman contributor took sympathy on my lament that I had an old Schubb with deterioated rubber parts. He, super helpful that he is, sent me some Schubb replacement rubbers that he had scored. I dug out my 25 year old "Schubb" and found it wasn't a Schubb (I just looked at the Schubb web site on the previous post, and saw that they came out in 1980, they copied mine or something as mine was a 70's kapo quite similar). I consulted Norsey and he agreed that if anybody needs these replacement parts I could offer them on the board. Therefore if anybody needs them, let me know and I will mail them at no charge, I'll even mail my early "Schubb" if anybody wants it, it has a thumbscrew with white rubber protection. Thank you Norse for the favor.

Call me old fashioned, but my favorite capo is still a simple Dunlop strap capo. I picked up three of them on e-bay for 1.50 each a few weeks ago. They work just as well on my Yahmaha 12, as on my Baladeer and Legend. By the way, anyone willing to donate an Ovation 12, I'd be more than happy to have a nice bon fire with the Yahmaha ;)
The sun is shinning, the Crappies are biting, the loons are in full throat! Man, I LOVE Minnesota!

I've had legitimate 2 requests already for the rubbers and I'll get them out soon. "The loons are in full throat..."? Does that only happen in the spring in Minnisota? By the way, I am in love with a teacher, I have to say my daughter, Lisa, has her masters, and teaches here in Las Cruces at the high school, I have to mention that as I have mentioned my son the musician, when she has worked hard to contribute in the real world. I had the sudden thought of my postings being revealed and no credit given to the other side of why we exist, music is only one part of a great world.

Thanks for the confirmation. I mailed two of them from the same sattelite mailing facility, and one came back with a postage due stamp. I'm glad you got yours, and I remailed the other today. Please send Norsey something nice, as he sent them to me originally.

Peace,
Norse(Remember all the complaining I did about living in Minnesota last winter...well it's all a distant memory now, it is absolutely GORGEOUS here, and will continue to be until about November)man1 |

You'll like the Kyser.
Norsey
I just noted the "frozen north amnesia syndrone", it strikes all who have huddled for 9 months in a smoky cave, waiting for one day of sunshine. When that day comes, they gambol about with faces of extreme bliss, breed and multiply, and then retreat to their caves the next day as the blizzard strikes and the cycle begins again.
The woman who studied the orangutangs tried to study this group but couldn't stand the weather, so she went to Africa. She only wrote one short paragraph "Too friggin cold for any type of civilized mammalian relationships. Nuke this area and relieve immense suffering." Of course she didn't stay long enough for the gamboling.

Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | lol Bailey! You've hit on the essence of what it is to be a Minnesotan!
Funny thing is, every February when it's -40, we sit in our fish houses, talk about moving south, and lament over our lot in life, and every May when the first 70's hit, and all is in bloom, we sit in our boats and praise God for our good fortune to live where we do. Every year, the same story.
I had a friend move to San Diego about ten years ago. He absolutley loved it the first two years... then he started missing the change in seasons... within five years he longed to move back...within 9 years he did. He's a little quieter than the rest of us in the fish house now.
Minnesota is an enigma, and it's people are even moreso!
Peace,

Location: NJ | Years ago, when I used to work for 3M they used to send me out for training for two/three week stints a couple times a year (usually in the DEAD of Winter  ).
When I would fly home I'd come back with armloads of GREAT t-shirts that showed what a great sense of humour Minnesotans had about themselves.
My favorites were:
A cartoon of a cluster of cows standing upright with sunglasses and shorts posing ala' California surfers with their "boards". The caption:
"SURF MINNESOTA"
"MINNESOTA: Where it's ILLEGAL to get married on the opening day of fishing season"
The Minnesota State Bird:
(picture of an Air Hawaii jet in flight)
Minnesota Polo Club:
(cartoon of a fat, dumpy guy in full polo reggalia on the back of a grazing cow).
And my all-time favorite:
"MINNESOTA . . . it's not the end of the world . . . but, you can SEE it from here".
