Hello there, I just bought an ovation 'collectors edition 1991' and I would love to know the specs of that model, incl the pricevalue. Can someone help me out? By the way, it plays wonderfully. I use it side by side with my gibson es 175.

Richard, it's a good guitar, like most Ovation. You should have fun with it. In terms of spec, it's like a Balladeer or Legend plus a fancier rosette. That's it.

In terms of MSRP in 1991:

1862 Custom Balladeer $1099
1991 Collector's Edition $1159
1767 Lengend $1299
1768 Elite $1399

1991 seems to be the "cheapiest" collector's edition ever made by Ovation, for they have always been more expensive than Legend & Elite.

I think $400 (excellent to mint) should be fair price between private parties. Much more expensive collector's edition have been selling for around $450-500 on eBay, e.g. 1997 (MSRP $1800), 1990 ($1600), etc.

Regardless of how much you paid for it, it's priceless if it sounds great AND you like it.
