Location: Bethel, Me | Just picked up my second Ovation, a 1977 Custom Legend 1119-4. From the reference link, I believe it's a acoustic only deep bowl. Have my fingers crossed while it's in transit. I was wondering what type of strings would be best. D'Addario EXP16, Adamas 1818E seem to be the standard. Does anyone else have any other recommendations?

I picked up and played a Custom Legend for the first time a couple of months ago (Thanks to "Guitar George - he knows all the chords"). I never realized what a beautiful instrument they are just to hold. And a great sound! |

Out of the three guitars I have list for sale I am surprised that no one asked about my Custom Legend. I know it had a crack in the top, but it's been fixed. Your beautiful new guitar cost ~ $655 with shipping. I was selling mine for $425. Oh well, off to EBay it goes.
Enjoy you Custom Legend, they are a beautiful guitar.

Don't think your guitar hasn't occupied the minds of at least a few of us. For myself, I would love to take a shot at it, but as you know, my 12 string situation is still in the air, and I have a limited budget to work with.
I'm sure you will bring in more than 425.00 on ebay. Just a matter of timing I guess.
Good Luck Bro! Personally, I'd find a way to hold on to those O's you're parting with.

Location: Zion, Illinois | I wish I could hold on to them. But I promiced the wife I would sell off a few to pay for my last guitar, my parlour guitar. She said if I did that I could have them make me a custom 12-string! So, off they go...

p.s. Not go give anyone GAS, but I just played it and in my opinion, it sounds BETTER than my 1537! |

To me, it was worth the slightly extra money I had to pay to get an advertised mint guitar. We'll see when it arrives next week. There's been several people bidding on them on EBay so you shouldn't have any trouble getting what you want for it. Good Luck... |
