Location: New Jersey | I am relatively a new member, posting for the first time. I enjoy reading all the comments and suggestions. You could call me a O junkie, I have three Balladeers, a 12 string 6751 an 1861 and a 1661 from year'82 which I recently bid and won at ebay; it is in great shape, it plays and sounds great. I am unable to find any info on this guitar i.e. the top wood, neck, price etc. Any information on this guitar will be greatly appreciated -- What are your thoughts about this guitar.

I would like to bid in ebay for an O too, but I'm a little scared about it. May I ask you some questions about your experience?
Do you bought from a private or from a retailer? How much do pay for it? Which payment method?
With case? The guitar should travel a lot (I'm now in Czech Republic) and a guitar case (best if original) would help to preserve from any hit...
Thank you! | |

Location: New Jersey | I have brought few items on ebay and this was my first guitar purchase, all my purchases have been private; I have been lucky so far. I am registered with Paypal. All my payments are thru paypal.
I think you can bid with confidence provided you feel the rating of the person is positive I generally go for 100% positive rating, do read as to how the others rate him. Once you bid, do sent email and see how promptly the person replies--establish a trust.
Ovations guitars cases are sturdy and the guitar has a snug fit so air travel should be fine. I prefer mine to shipped via UPS they seem to handle packages better. Make sure the strings are loose before the guitar is shipped.
So, the bottom line is, with some research, trust and little bit of luck you should be fine.
