Location: San Bernardino, California | Heavier gauge strings will pull the neck forward toward the strings. How much depends on the neck. If you are trying to get rid of a backward warp, try adjusting the truss rod by loosening it. An easy way to check relief (amount of forward bow) is to fret the 1st and 14th fret then look between the string and the frets at about the 7th fret. There should be some seperation in order for the strings not to buzz. How much depends on personal taste and string tension.
If you've already tryed that then heavier or lighter strings MAY help. Depends if the truss rod is stuck or if the neck has taken a set or if the neck is warped. |
