The retail price matrix on OFC is an excellent contribution. We can get an idea of total production by year by serial number.

However, is there any source of production by MODEL by year. A good example is the Viper Bass that is being discussed in another topic. It would be helpful if these figures are available.

Thanks

I do not believe that information actually exists. It does for the Collectors series I believe, but not much else. I agree would be nice info to have, as the serial number "range" does not reflect how many guitars were actually made.

The only guitar model I am certain of is the 1537 Elite. There are records as to what serial number started them.

This thread got my curiosity going so I looked at the production numbers for the Collector's Series.
I looked for the 1988 and was surprised it said only 1177 were made.
I thought they made 1600 of them.
At any rate the serial number on my guitar is #1593, any ideas on why my guitar is numbered higher than the total produced?

Probably depends what number they STARTED with.

My SlotHead Adamas is #54, but only 35 were made.

The 1537 Elites started with 301000. Mine is 302415, making it number 1415.

My financial guy always told me that CPA stood for constant pain in the ass! Nobody here fits that description, well maybe....... never mind.
