My daughter, Kaki King, will perform in Brazil on Sept. 6th.

This is Alta Vista's translation from Portuguese to English (edited by ex-pc):

"Kaki was born in Atlanta, U.S.A., and at five years of age she had a very small guitar and started music lessons. In Kaki's adolescence she discovered her idols: Alex de Grassi, Michael Hedges and Leo Kottke. Her style is without vocals, but in her hands her guitar becomes a true orchestra.

After leaving Atlanta, she lived in NYC. She started to play in the subway and worked in a bar to earn money to live on. In 2002 she recorded her first independent compact disc which got the attention of the Velour label (which launched Soulive), and Kaki signed a recording contract with them in March of 2003. Long life for Kaki."

I heartily agree with that last sentiment.

Regards to all--

Your daughter's music is some of the most moving I've ever heard in my life. Congratulations.

Welcome to OFC and thanks for that comment about her music. Tell us a little something about that gorgeous guitar you're playing in the photo in your member profile.
