A Romanian-made bowl-less Kaman guitar? This would be from the 'other side of the tracks' on the Kaman family tree, I would presume:

BTW, these things got an overall '4' on Harmony Central reviews. Here's one comment: "The Montana uses four massive lateral braces under a small plywood soundboard. This design has not been used in good guitars since about 1850, because over bracing a small top limits volume and tone quality."

I bought my boss's 2-year-old son a uke last Xmas.

Bought it in my local hometown music store.

It was a Romanian-made Montana (dist. by Kaman).

we got a copy right on the name Montana just so another company couldn't use it since they had a factory there. They we put the lowest level product we had under that brand. Kind of our way to honor them.

They fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia," but only slightly less well known is this: "Never go in against a Kaman when guitars are on the line!"

I have an old "Montana" traditional acoustic wood guitar with the Kaman label still inside.
I found it floating in Long Lake up here in the ADK mtns. The bridge let loose but everything else is like it was never in water.
