I am watching that hurricane and praying and hoping that all my friends on the coast are spared the devastation of a strong hurricane. Let us all apply all the hoping and brain power we can and try to avert this monstrosity. Over 1500 people concentrating might do the job. All of us must tell that threatening disaster that we are opposing it with human brain power, and won't let it near our coast.

Location: Waterloo, IL | Waiting patiently in Virginia for Isabel to get here. Amazing how much stuff is outside that either has to be tied down or brought inside to keep it from becoming a flying missile hazard around here. Being less than 10 miles from the ocean can have disadvantages. |

Praying for you and concentrating on your survival. I spent my youth at Ft Eustis and Williamsburg and love Virginia. I am doing all the brain poewer I have(the equivalent of a 40 watt bulb) to save you guys. AAARGH, you are doomed if it's up to me. |

We were able to see the strength of that Hurricane, and it looked terrific. I hope you survived intact. My daughter was living at Cherry Point with her Marine husband on a previous one and had to evacuate. They returned to the skirting blown off their trailer and survived. Good luck to you, we are praying.

Location: 6 String Ranch | We're sitting on this mountain top and the wind is howlin like a wolf (couldn't resist that) and it's raining catfish and fergle babies. Lucky for us this isn't much of the storm. A good day to sit out on the deck in the rain and practice the banjo. |

I'm glad the worst of it missed you.
One question please - what the hell are "fergle babies"?

P.S. Sometimes it rains baby frogs here. Really. |

Watching the news it looks like you took the worst of the storm at Virginia Beach, I assume, as I type this, that you may have no power or phone lines. As soon as you can let us know how you're doing. We are pulling for you with whatever power we have. We got to see a lot of stupid news readers get blown on their ass so their was some good to the storm.

Location: Las Cruces, NM | Also, not only do they have to put up with vast distruction and power outages, but wafting in on the hurricane winds comes the horrific sound of cwk-2's banjo. That is a cruel fate for those who chose not to escape the hurricane, I hope none threw themselves into the churning waters to escape the banjo. |

I'm back cause I couldn't reach the flush handle (and fortunately my wife was in bed), maybe I'll look that up.
