| I've played the ck057 and I own an 1861 balladeer.
The ck057 does not have a solid top, has the op20 electronices, not the op30 of the balladeer, and is made in S.Korea (the 1861 is made in the USA). I'm sure there's more if you go to the regular Ovation website and compare. The difference for me that counts is that I didn't like the sound of the ck057 unplugged, and I did like the sound of the balladeer. I had always wanted an ovation (ever since I saw a Heart concert in about 1979), but the models without the solid tops didn't have an unplugged sound I could stand. When I picked up the balladeer I liked the sound, feel, and playability instantly. I like it so much that my eventual 12 string purchase will be most likely an Ovation (with a solid top!) That, of course, is just one opinion. |
