Anyone on the forum a dealer that canget me some info/ prices and time for completion? Also, anyone have pics of a 1687 made recently; do they look the same? thanks-

I haven't used Al's services yet but I have checked out his inventory before I have bought a guitar [see Lost Art/Vintage Instruments link when you first log onto OFC or screenname ALPEP]. I have bought five Ovations (three Custom Legends, a Viper bass, and a Balladeer) this year.

However, I am impressed enough that the next guitar I buy (probably an Adamas) - I will either buy from his stock or ask him to find it for me. Check out the posts - his heart is in it.

Tony:

If you want to look at a great Adamas, look on Al's wwebsite and check out the Adamas model number W587t-7. Ebony fingerboard, old style Adamas top, but a bit unlike the old tops, mid depth bowl. It was made for the export market. I played one of these in Hollywood and had a tough time walking away from it. If you're looking for an Adamas, and are considering the new ones, I'd take a serious look at this guitar.

And as has been noted, Al is a good guy to do business with. His prices are competitive, and I'd just as soon support him as a big chain store.

You may like the look of the old walnut fingerboards, but the ebony is far superior in every other way in my opinion. I have an old walnut one and it really shows the wear. Dave
