Unlike my electrics (glossy), the Ovation necks seem unsealed. Do I need to condition them in any way (like the fretboard)? If so, with what?

Playing the neck puts grease on it, but some people use Butcher's Wax. Probably once a year.

I use a fretboard cleaner/conditioner that came new with an Alvarez-Yairi 31 yrs ago. It doesn't need much, but a little TLC every now and again helps keep the wood from drying out or getting too grimy. I believe it is some kind of mineral oil product.

Some of the backs of Ovation necks are glossed, others are satin. I've never done anything to either type other than clean them with a rag every once in awhile.
