| I'm here to help. Neil Diamond played Ovation's in the 70's, that's good enough for me! |

| Yup. I read that thread. I think if you ask Steve, he'll tell you I've been honest and forthcoming regarding that transaction. Just wanted to let folks know that I'm here, and if there has been any question as to our store/service, I can help them out. |

Location: Canada | Hey Dave. It's nice to see that you have joined the Ovation fan club. Dave was indeed "honest and forthcoming", After I received the guitar. As many know he offered me a refund towards the guitar. It was very noble of your company to modify your current auctions on eBay to include their proper titles. I think we should thank alpep for inviting (or in his terms "tipping off") Dave to the board. It is very reassuring that a business like Litz music would send a representative to clarify any preconceived notions about their products. Dave and I were in constant communication before and after the auction was completed. I’m sure when I get the neck corrected and the epaulet wood re-glued; my Ovation will be as good as new. Dave, does Litz music leave feedback for their buyers on eBay? I made payment over a month ago and I have still not received any feedback.
All the best,
Steve

Welcome to the club. Sorry I haven't been by the store lately. Just been busy. Glad to see you here. Tell Tony and John I said hello.
I'm Miles if you haven't figured it out by now. :) |

| Steve,
Drop me a line with your eBay ID and your item # and I'll take care of it. Due to the volume of business we do, I generally don't leave feedback unless asked. Again, sorry you had to go through all that with the guitar.

Obviously you're keeping the guitar. What are you having done and where are you having it done? |

I would like to get the neck join refinished and reset. The guitar is buzzing while playing certain chords and needs a set up.I would also like to get the epaulet wood re-glued (its starting to come off on one side). |

Welcome to a bunch of throwbacks to the "Old Days".
I have been screaming on the board for support for music stores vs. the catalogs. I bought all my instruments from a good friend who owned the music store in Poway, CA, a retired member of the Marine Band who saw action in Korea, probably inadvertantly, as he was a band member, but everyone had to fight their way out in some circumstances.
Anyway, I keep hoping for the survival of the music store, and despairing of it's future.
No catalog has ever helped set up a new guitar for anybody.

The music store in Poway - what's the name? Is the Marine still the owner? Might be worth a couple of miles out of my way to frequent. |

I would really like to hear a reply to Paul's question. I'm looking for some closure here.

Slipkid,
First of all I want to thank you for your reply. The truth of the matter is that I still don't know if Ovation is going to correct the issues on my Elite L778. I was speaking to a representative north of the boarder. I will send the guitar away for assessment and hopefully I don’t own an expensive piece of firewood (or fire plastic). I’m not trying to start anything within the board but again there is an individual who continues to question my situation. I bought an Ovation Elite and I just want to enjoy it for what it is supposed to be. If you want, I will post the result of the assessment after Christmas. Thanks again Brad, your interest is appreciated. |

If I'm the person who you're refering to who
"continues to question your situation" then I apologize. I'm just curious to know how everything gets resolved. I'm hoping that you end up with a guitar that puts a smile on your face every time you pick it up. |

I appreciate your interest in Poway Music, but unfortunately, one of the last things I did in the late 70's before leaving CA and moving here (in 1980) was help Bill sell off his inventory at swap meets in the area as he closed down the store. He had prostate cancer which slowed him down but he survived, he has died since but I'm not sure what of as I lost touch with him. His difficulties in making a living with a music store were signs of things to come. He helped out our Poway bluegrass club immensely and also gave me some good deals on instruments and accessories.
I fantasize that a group like Nickle Creek coming from San Marcos might be a result of the interest we raised in bluegrass in the area with our Poway Lake jams and local gigs. They claim they learned by jamming with North County bluegrass bands.
