Location: Los Angeles | The Celebrity Deluxe Double (CSD-225) is the only production doubleneck Ovation has ever offered. (I've got one). All others are special-order, one of a kind instruments. Richie Sambora is known for playing his custom double onstage with Bon Jovi. Since these are custom guitars, I'm not sure if Ovation considers them part of the Adamas line but they are certainly of comparable quality.

Location: Colorado | I remember seeing in a guitar magazine some years ago that Elite doublenecks similar to Samboras were available through Ovation for the paltry sum of $8000!!! They were built only if someone prepaid for one, so they were more of a custom-shop guitar. I used to want one, but I couldn't afford it or would I have played it enough to get my money's worth.

Location: Los Angeles | Yes, this is precisely the beauty of the CSD-225. Doublenecks are such specialized instruments that few would ever play one often enough to justify spending almost ten grand. I see the CSD-225 on ebay all the time going for around $600.00 and it's a fine instrument...I just wish it had the OP-30 pre-amp with the built in tuner to keep all those 18 strings in tune. |

Unless you're Junior Brown, why would anybody need a double neck? There are many ways of switching instruments that are better. That said, the double neck virtuosos are impressive. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | The question was about Adamas double necks. Yes, one was made for Pat Martino, both nylon strings, bottom righty top lefty. On the top he could play retrograde inversion. Only Pat Martino can do that.
As far as I know all the rest have had wood tops. |

Location: NJ | Was that black one built for Jimmy Page on the "Unledded" Tour an Adamas or an Elite? I remember it being talked about (at the Tour) in regards to specs and logistic and such, and I had THOUGHT that it was an Adamas (but I could be wrong . . and probably AM :) ).
Who would want a double-neck??
I'd fuckin' KILL for one!!!
Being that I'm predominantly the singer/rhthym player, I'm CONSTANTLY switching back and forth between 6 and 12, and in the sometime cramped quarters we often play in it's a royal pain!!
(It'd take a LOT of consideration, but) I MIGHT consider trading my SlotHead for a REALLY good Ovation double-neck. But DON'T . . . I repeat DON'T!! barrage me with offers of your SiameseCelebs, 'cause it just ain't gonna fly!! ;) |

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | On the GAC program "Made in America" an Ovation worker hands a double neck Ovation over to Aaron Tippin so he can check it out. It looked like a complete guitar, but it had no tuning keys on it. Does anyone know if this guitar was American made? |
