The pickup assembly on my Custom Balladeer looks like it is lower on the bass side than the treble side. The black channel where the saddle sits as you look at is from the front is further down in the bridge on the bass side. The pickup has two shims under it, but I don't know why it is leaning that way. I get a slight buss on the big E string, and if the pickup was level I think that would fix that problem. Any one know if the bridge is just routed this way? Thanks.

Are the two shims under the pickup tapered? If they are they might have been reversed at a string changing or some other time when work was being done . If they aren't tapered you could probably get some tapered shims from the service guys and that will allow you to leave the treble side where it is and bring up the bass side as needed.Good Luck, Dave

I took the shims and reversed them, but the pickup still seems to be lower on the bass side. Any ideas why this is?
