Hi All,

This is my first post here. Today after much deliberation I bought this guitar. I liked it because of the sitka spruce top, OP30 eq., and pearl covered tuners, also the mid-bowl depth.

Does anyone know what the neck is made of? Does anyone own one and can pass their thoughts on abot this guitar?

Thanks,

JRG

The necks on Celebs are specified as Nato, sometimes called Nyatoh. This wood is a plentiful Asian hardwood used in the furniture & instrument industries. As well as guitar necks it is often used for grand piano rims. It has the appearance of mahogany and is similar in strength & weight, but is actually a different species.

I also just picked up a CP2003H after much wrestling over choices. I think the finish is luscious adn after adjusting the action I am very happy with it.

I used to have a Balladeer made in 1977 and though I enjoyed it a lot I sold it to make a different purchase. I chose the Limited Edition 2003 and now I see that the new LX series is a lot like it.

Enjoy your new guitar. Great choice!

JRG,

Welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase. I hope you like it.

I tried a CP2003 recently and thought it was the best sounding of any of the Celebrities I have ever played. The arch-top does seem to make a difference. And it is a fine looking guitar as well. Nice choice!

I haven't had a chance to see one in person, but the pictures look great.
