Location: SoCal | Played a Taylor at the Guitar Center today that actually struck me as being worth the money. It was a Grand Concert, 14 fret, slothead, I don't recall which level. GC was charging about $2100 for it and for the first time, I thought a Taylor was worth what was being charged for it. Not a bad little guitar.
Well, maybe a little over priced. I might have actually been interested if it had been about $1200, but it was a nice guitar. |

THAT would be a nice afternoon. |

The Collings is crisper while the Lowden is more mellow but both play like a dream.
Can't help ya on the McPherson. |

What's next?? Will Dave discover a Taylor he conciders worthy? Or will it be Cliff?? There was a time when a Doyle Dykes model was calling my name but my credit card limit stopped me.
This is all pretty frightening but I won't be concerned about this being the END OF CIVILIZATION until Bill buys a banjo. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I played a Taylor about a year ago that I throught sounded good and I posted about it here. But even tho it sounded good and played nice I had no desire own it. Doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it. As far as I know even Baskin-Robbins has vanilla on the menu. I can see why people Taylors and the company seems to do pretty well. It's just not for me and never will be.

Location: ms | I`ll take a guess and say it was my Taylor that Dave liked. I myself am not the biggest Taylor fan and ive not got the chance to play one of the newer all solid wood taks, but i`ve played a bunch of Taks over the years and never played one that did anything for me at all. Sorry guys and i hope to play one of the high end ones soon.. |

I've said many times that my Doyle Dykes (DDSM) is the only Taylor I have ever played that pulled me in.
Brad appears to have felt the tug when he played one.
All the rest suck  ....YMMV but I doubt it. |

Location: Lower Mainland, Vancouver B.C. | I had a Guild A412 in the 90's Best guitar I ever played but well a Taylor is also a nice axe. Guitars are like woman the best ones all have their own character, colours & tone qualities, but watch out for the cheap ones hahahaha.
Good luck my friend |

Location: ms | I think what Paul says has been true for me. While i`ve had at least 5 Taylors that sold new for over 2 grand, and a couple of those were really sood. I`ve had a bunch of lower end like 310s and 410s that were close if not as good as the high end ones. |

Location: SoCal | I didn't say I wanted to buy the damned guitar, just that it seemed to be worth the money (couple grand). It had a lot of the elements that I like (smaller body, slothead, good sound). I wasn't go to buy it..... |

If I had the expendable cash and nothing else to spend it on, I might take the plunge on one myself...'course the likelihood of that happening... |

it was very nice, but for less money I could get an 1778t and get the op pro, vip and iDEA preamps, have a ton of flexability and not have to panic about dingin the darn thing - and 1778t soulds about 90% as good as the 3 grand taylor - and maybe even get one of those ultras with the killer sunburst stain - |
