Amount of 2003 collectors produced?

One piece of info I'm looking for is to figure out approximately how many 2003 collector editions were produced. Anyone have any idea? 300? 500? 2000? Initially, Ovation was producing 1500 - 2000 per year, but the last few years the number has dwindled to around 700. Maybe the shine is off the apple, so to speak? Just found this caveat at Musician's friend re: drastic price drop on 2003 Collector's Edition "NOTE: Ovation has placed a label in these instruments stating that they are factory reconditioned. In fact, they are A-Stock instruments in perfect condition." I can't imagine this Really being an FRG. It is new and spotless. Maybe overstocked, or returned from dealers unopened?
