after fooling around trying to get my older elite to sound as good as my newer elite, I decided to run it thru a Marshall tube rackmount pre-amp I've had laying around collecting dust for years....wow.....talk about a lively sound.....

I think I'm going to use this set-up from now on.....happy picking.....

anybody out there as fast and articulate as Al Dimeola or the rest of the speed freaks . I'm trying neoclassical sweeps but I just can't seem to get it to sound fluid...any tips?...other than give up?...thanks Rick

Rick,

I have found the the book "Flying Fingers" by Dave Celentano to be an excellent source of exercises that really help with the fast picking. He also has a new book (with CD) called "Speed Metal" that I haven't seen but I like his other stuff so its probably good. If you're interested, search on his name on google to find his stuff.
