Location: Tampa Bay area, FL | I bought this from a fellow forum member- it was in pretty rough shape, with gouges in the binding, scratches in the gloss black top, pick scratches through a few of the wood epaulets, and oddly, glue all over the binding and tuners. The B & E string didn't contact the piezo, unless you pushed hard on the bridge so they wouldn't amplify...
Well, I just got it back from John @ Ovation, and what a wonderful job! I wanted an industrial vibe, so I had him use the textured paint all over, remove the epaulets & body binding..he even sprayed the headstock & bridge, and scraped all of the glue off of the neck binding! The electronics now are perfect, and it sounds wonderful. The original hardware was gold, and the tuners were pretty rough & pitted. I added Schaller strap locks and Sperzel tuners (flat black of course- locking too, for fast string changes). The guitar didn't have a sticker inside either...It has a proper sticker inside now.
I gotta say I love this. And if anyone here needs work done, email John...his team are artists. Maybe this is the only Viper like this?

Location: Tampa Bay area, FL | Yes, John's team is pretty amazing. Thanks for the nice comments- I thought a 'Viper T' would be pretty stealthy, and not show fingerprints like the gloss black!
I really like the sound...I tend to like processed acoustic sounds (like Adrian Legg or the California Guitar Trio), and this really does have a lot of bass and sustain for such a thin, small body. |

Location: SoCal | Very cool guitar. Is this a USA built Viper or a Celeb (are the strings anchored thru the body or at the bridge?)?
I, for one, like the Elite T's and am considering having the factory paint my car with the textured bowl paint...... |

I must go now. It pains me to keep seeing it. |

Location: Tampa Bay area, FL | Its a USA Viper, BTW..with strings through the body! The Ovation factory only works on USA guitars, I think. |

...I have a 2004 black Viper. |
