Last Saturday night on PBS "Mountain Stage", Jeannie Kendall (of the Kendalls) played a set and one of her guitarists was playing an Ovation (it appeared to be an Elite- spruce top, non-cutaway, double epaulettes, plugged in)!

He was truly holding his own playing in a Bluegrass band :D and there were several great closeups!

Every little bit helps! :)

There is a Bill Monroe instructional mandolin tape by Homespun where the guitar player in The Bluegrass Boys was playing an Elite, I think an original 1537. This blew my mind! I had not seen an Ovation played in hardcore bluegrass since Tony Rice and Bill Harrell did their endorsement deals years ago.

Tony used his Legend on the "Manzanita" album.

My son (a neo-Cowboy) brought home a copy of a country music magazine, and there was a "where-are-they-now" feature on Janie Fricke. The picture had her sitting there holding a very pretty Elite. It was white, with a white headstock, 5-piece neck, and epaulets that were a match for the ones on the 1988 Collectors. Very pretty indeed.
