Location: south east Michigan | At the Guitar Club I got to play Brians 1895 (?) Legend. When I pick it up I noticed quite a weight difference from my '71 Balladeer. The Legand was heavier. How come? They are both deep bowls and they look like the same basic guitar. Is the Kaman bar heavier than the old truss rod system?

the bowls got heavier
the electronics add weight
.030 of finish adds weight
that's why the new aLeX series is so interesting, lighter and better truss rod, lighter bowl, thinner finish. Got alot going for it, even the aLeX name (now that it's named after someone and not some F#*@$^% J car that some mp probably got a hard-on lusting after) |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | There is a significant difference in weight between my two 12-strings....the 2001 Melissa Etheridge is much heavier than the 1981 Glen Campbell. Most of the weight difference is in the neck, though, so I figured it was the Kaman bar.
