When looking from the soundhole(s) toward the peghead, which direction do you turn the neck adjusting screw to tighten? Clockwise or anti-clockwise?
Does tightening increase or decrease the "relief"?
I meekly await proclaimations from the Mount......

Location: North Carolina | As far as I know, it's "right-tighty, lefty-loosey", so clockwise tightens the truss rod. This will straighten the neck more, which decreases the relief.

Seriously, Turns to the right(clockwise)will "tighten" or take away the relief and turns to the left(counterclockwise)will "loosen" or relax the neck giving you more relief(kind of like ROLAIDS)
The same applies when working from the peghead!!

I always do something first and then try the other way. That works for me unless there are power tools invoved. |

Location: Central Oregon | Don't get carried away reefing on that truss rod nut. The nut had fallen off my 1612 in transit so I was forced to figure this out myself. The guitar actually didn't play too bad with the nut completely off, so when I put it back on I ran it up finger tight with the strings on & turned it just a smidge past "snug" with the neck wrench. A while later I tightend the nut a half turn & I got a buzz. I backed it off 1/8th & it's great. My point being don't go wrenching that nut down like it was a lug nut on your car, a little bit goes a long ways.
