Hi guys! I'm new to the club. I have only one Ovation, but play it all the time and love it. I am in the market to get a 12 string. On ebay there is a guitar that is a Model 1736 and is stated to be a Legend Elite. From the serial number I know that it was built in 1985, but on Ovation's website I can't get any information about the Model 1736. Does anybody have any information or access to information about this model? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to learning more about these awesome guitars from you guys!

Ovation made this guitar from about 1984 to the mid 1990's. It was a deep bowl Elite 12 string. Heck of a good guitar. I believe that the reason they stopped make them was that Ovation was moving more towards the supershallow bowls on their 12 strings (or mid depth -- at any rate, they were moving away from the deep bowl 12's).

You can go to the reference section of this board and check suggested retail prices for Ovations at the time they were produced. The 1736 is listed there.
