Location: Tampa, FL | Please recommend a good guitar humidifier for my new 2003 Collectors' Series. Our home has a humidifier built into the furnace, but I also use guitar humidifiers when storing in the case. The Planet Waves I have fit into the soundhole, and that won't do with the Epaulet.
Thanks,

The way I understand it, too much humidity is just as bad (or worse) than not enough. I was told to buy a hygrometer before I did anything one way or the other. I have to admit I haven't done it yet, but I haven't had problems here with any of my guitars cracking in the last 18 years or so (including a 51 year old ES175), so I haven't rushed out to buy one. Just a guess, but if your furnace has a humidifier built in you might be fine as is. If you're really concerned get the hygrometer & see if you need a humidifier at all.
