I think I've found what guitar designers do after a nightmare.

I get an image in my head of the poor owner trying to get it though Airport Security:

"Really, it is a guitar! It is not a Thermonuclear Device!"

Did they have an acoustic model?

If that one causes bad dreams, then these will give you nightmares. Click on the Evolution series under models and the link to Ken Parin. These are just plain scarey.

Yikes.....What a strange one.
.
"My God Spock!!!!!! What is it?"
"Unknown Captain. Sensors indicate the presence of strings, frets, and tuning devices. However the libray computer does not recognize this device as a "guitar".
"Can....we.....beamitaboard....Spock?"
"I would not take that action at his time. We cannot risk the safty of the crew. Computer records show that humans of the late 20th century did experimentation on the shapes and designs of guitars. Records show that a Mr. Kaman of Hartford started it all with a device called a ...."Breadwinner". By the end of the century outlaw luthiers had corrupted the instrument. By the year 2015 the United States Congress inacted laws against such experimentation. Frankly captain, I am amazed that your culture survived. The disreguard for safty had once again almost ruined...."
"That's enough Spock.....Have Scotty put together a Fender Vibro-lux. Have it sent to my quarters with a bottle of romulan ale...no...make it Johnny Walker Red. Then..beam the devise directly to me. I will be off duty for 12 hours. I have explored the fine curves of many alien shapes..... but this one......"

Play one of those on a tight stage with a bassist using a Gene Simmons 'Punisher' model and it is well advised to avoid all substances but water until after the gig.

The $50k price tag must seem justified by the rarity of the instrument. I wonder why they didn't make this into a production model.... :D

History tells us that eventually Worf got his hands on what was discovered to be a Klingon weapon modified into what came to be known as a Klingon Kaman.
In his later days as the Klingon Ambassador he wrote many Klingon Classics most notably "qaStaH nug?" translated to be comparable to Earth's 20th century hit by Marvin Gaye called "What's Goin' On?"
Reference: Klingon Language Institute
And Worf serenaded the ladies into the Klingon Home World Sunset...

Agreed, Dave. LMAO. The pauses in Kirk's "beamitaboard" line, classic.

Damnit Jim... I'm a doctor not a luthier!!

Ah yes, good ol' Apple Music in downtown Portland. Made the mistake of setting foot in there once. Scary place. 'nuff said.
