Now I have to resort back to my teaching days.

When you are given directions you need to follow them.
the directions for today class are NOT to respond to someone that is self absorbed and self important without a foot in reality.

Please follow these directions.

Yes this counts for a grade.

and yes this will be on the test.

Al,
I'm out....I promise.
I thought I was out before.
It's like a #&**(@ train wreck. I had to take another look.
Anyone,
Isn't there a setting to ignore a certain person's posts?

Tony,
That was for Miles making phalic reference to my upstanding name. I was stiffnecked and referred back to the days before he was (forgive me) discharged.

As a Former (no such thing as ex) Marine you should be sure and thank him for any of the rides he gave you to serve in the front lines while he waited on the boat.

Peace.

I like his show though. Both my Mom & Dad were marines. He was a drill instructor at PI. I got "moved" to Beaufort SC when I was six weeks old.

I quit after one post when I realized he wasn't listening. I don't waste my breath(typing) on someone who isn't listening.

Unfortunately, the horse was D.O.A. in this case.

Didn't Glen Campbell carry a horseless saddle through half of one of his movies? We can end this string now on a positive OFC note.

I have a friend who rode a dead horse. It was his last ride as the old mare was drug by the tractor to a horse sized hole. He said it was the fastest that old horse had gone in years.

Ops! This isn't ending on a positive note is it? Maybe this story will inspire a songwriter out there!

You can send dead flowers to a dead horse... Is that ending on a positive note? Better yet, sign the card Glen Campbell. Now we can end on an official OFC note.

"Old Betsy had had a good life
She'd carried many a man and his wife
But eventually she died
And for her last ride
She was towed to a hole on a slide"

If somebody wants to do something with this, go to it..... :)

Could be a later verse in the "There once was a man from Nantucket" limmerick. Got the same meter, or whatever you call it. Kind of a tough segue from supersized body parts to horse story, but it's a start.

And in conclusion...

I usually have a nack for ending a string, but this is a tough one.

I also remember Quickdraw McGraw once singing "I've been so lonesome in the saddle since my horse died".

how do they land?
