The only Millennium Ovation(M-O) I had seen was a version with a natural top. I really liked it, but the $2,500 price kept me away. If I had seen the M-O that Woz was selling before Tony C did, I would have bought it. I have been saving for an Elite LX, but that M-O is just beautiful. The space blue, patterned top is a perfect match for the planet inlays. There was a "dream guitar" thread a while back. I think that one could be mine. Woz....If that was the one to let go of, you must have quite a stable. Tony C, good for you!

Actually, the OAO name was not chosen because I am old, it is because the APPLAUSE is old, about as old as they get! I am just past 50, in case anyone cares. Lost most of my hair, but not my sense of humor, hopefully.

My own odd-and-end: those of you with sharp eyes(who give a you-know-what) may have noticed the add to my sig line, the 1978-vintage 1617-4 Legend. I won an auction for it on eBay Thursday night, and since it was local to Detroit, I picked it up yesterday. The seller was unknowledgeable about guitars, he did not realize it needs some fret work, but everything is solid, the neck is straight and the action is fabulous.
The auction said it was from 1982, but that is wrong, it was made in 1978. It has some nicks, and I couldn't get a battery to plug into the connection in the holder, so I guess it is going to be a pure acoustic. I don't play plugged in anyway. I put a new set of D'Addario .011"-.052" phosphor bronze strings on it last night and it sounds FABULOUS. Nothing sounds like an old deep-bowl......

I didn't want to go E-bay with it and just sell it. I like the fact that it has a "home". The new born, OK you trivia buffs (W681 TA-5) Slothead is hanging in its spot.
It does have a real special sound.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | There likely will be ONE more Ovation. Not sure what yet, but it will be a new one. The story on this one is that I had been piling up money to get another new one from my eBay sales, and the realization came to me that I REALLY wanted a deep-bowl 6-string, especially after hearing Slipkid's and BrianT's deep bowls a couple of weeks ago.
Well, I started thinking about it....I'd want a Legend, and I guessed that the bottom line for a custom-ordered Legend deep-bowl would be $1200-$1300, plus a 3-month wait for it. The other alternative would be an Al DiMeola CL, which would be around $1500-$1600, and might take as long to get. I really didn't want to spend THAT much money.
Then I remembered this decent old Legend that was on eBay last weekend, it was in the Detroit area, and it didn't look like it was going to sell. I checked, it hadn't sold, and it had been relisted. I asked the seller all the important questions, he answered them and I bid on it and won it at opening bid, much, much cheaper and quicker than a new one.
Of course, it has issues a new guitar wouldn't have, like the lower frets need work. I can live with it, and ante up to get them taken care of. The wood top has aged nicely, it sounds wonderful.
Brad, I certainly can't get a group picture, as I only have TWO guitar stands. They all stay in their cases when not being played. I'll see what I can do as far as pictures.
All five of mine don't add up to anywhere near the neatness of Woz's Slothead!!!! Can you say "one-of-a-kind"???? Sure you can.
Now I have to sell my Epiphone Casino......
