Location: SoCal | heck, I don't know - obviously the 4 didgits reflect:
First digit is always [1]
Second digit - [7] Deep
Third digit denotes bowl depth on acoustic and acoustic electrics: [5] Custom Balladeer, Legend, Legend 12, Custom Legend 12, Anniversary
Fourth digit denotes mode, for the first eight acoustic models: [6] Contemporary Folk Classic
However, isn't there a "serial number" that is applicable only to that guitar and reflects yr made? Seems kind of strange that all of that model would have the same serial number. Seems like it would be a little hard to insure or even prove ownership. |

| Guitar appears to be 100% stock from 1967: original rosette, rosewood bridge, three-piece spruce top, early Classic peghead shape, and (judgingfrom the pictures) original tuners. Serial number is also from 1967.
However, unfortunately, the seller refuses to reply to any questions about the guitar. Hmmm. |

Hey guy's I am pretty sure most of you collectors will be aware of this but some may not? this web site is the guy who has that Slot Head for sale. I think I mentioned this in a reply to Cliff once a while back? it's in the $15,000 range but hey considering there were only 30 or so of these made. ? Who's to say what it's worth Collectors guitars like this are priced by what the rare guitar collector may be willing to pay? Real Nice photo's from all sides for those of you who have never seen one of these slot heads it's worth a look. If the photo's do not come up on that page look around or email this guy he knows his stuff. This guitar makes me wonder why Ovation did not make a classical Adamas? Wonder what Nylon strings would sound like with that top? Perhaps not as good as I think? Have a good trip All! I will do the next one for sure ! Randy |

Location: 6 String Ranch | We made a couple of nylon guitars but they didn't sound spectacular. I think that the braces need to be different for nylons and the pull on the top is less, nylon is 100-110 lbs and steel is 150-160#. More tension makes for better sound.
It would be nice if Elias got the 15K. |
