I recently got an electric ovation(not acoustic-electric) from a family member, and can't find out it's prics anywhere or even the name....It's serial number is E-2169, so it was made probably between 1973-1975...It's all black, long-neck and axe shaped. It has a silver metal panel on back that unscrews to put 9-volt batteries in. humbuck pickups, solid body. anyways if anyone has any info it would help me greatly. thanx

It's an early-mid 70's Breadwinner, with active electronics. What do you want to know?

thats what i thought it was, but it's showing different characteristics of a breadwinner. for instance the serial does not match, and the placement of the switches and knobs are different...I'm looking for a specific year hopefully and a pricerange of what it might be worth.

Why don't you think the serial number doesn't match?

Post a pic of it.

The Deacon had a fancier neck and better body wood.

If it's painted it's a Breadwinner, Stained it's a Deacon.

different person here.... but for the same purpose (finding out psycholovely's guitar)
agreed it is NOT a deacon but we are looking online to find whatever similarities we can. It looks like a deacon, but the pick guard isn't the same. will post a pic tommorrow bright and early if we haven't found out what it is.

Again, the serial is E 2169, long neck, solid body, humbuck, 6 (six) string. Operates only if 9 volt batteries are placed and have full power. All black. Double dots only on 12th fret. Axe body for its shape. Two knobs, to switches.
