I loved last year's tour.
I loved this year's tour too, but for different reasons. The best part for me, was hanging with everyone, with my having the intent of taking the opportunity to really connect with individuals. I tend to be a social butterfly, and was doing my best to spend a little time with most everyone. It was well worth the effort. My apologies to anyone I missed, there's always next year.
What I came away with was an amazing feeling. We really have a great community, and a lot of genuine, generous, TALENTED, supportive and friendly people...and they just happen to love ovation guitars. It was incredible.
If I started to mention names of the really fantastic people who impressed me with not only guitar ability, but more importantly, their fantastic personalities, this thread would become a book. To those who I had great moments with...those passing chats in the hallways...a great laugh...etc...Thanks-it was the best. It's great when folks reach out.
I appreciate the whole thing...even the hotel/staff was incredible..better than last year, I hope we come back to this one next year!
Of course, special thanks to Miles and Al, and the generous Ovation gang for making it happen once again. I was amazed at how many staff remembered me by name! You guys were great about answering tech questions (one on one)...thanks a bunch!
And cheers to the latest progress on Ovation's new LX series!
Ok, now I'm starting to get to book length!
Thanks again to all my Ovation Tour Bros and Sistas-including my NJ family who joined me!It was sincerely a pleasure.
All the best!

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | I had a hard sell convincing my wife to come along on the tour, it's a very busy time of the year for her (school teacher and all). We were running around crazy on Thursday getting our kids taken care off, getting to the airport after school, carrying my guitar on the flight and arriving pretty late to the hotel. Friday at the tour, our group went on the Hamer side in the morning, Ovation in the afternoon. She decided she would rather spend the afternoon sitting next to the river (with it's famous fly-fishing and geese hanging around) than go on the tour (she missed being in the group picture). She loved it! She also loved meeting everyone, she loved the jam Friday night. She thought the Ovation folks were so cool, the hotel staff were all friendly and excited to have us there...
I'm always calling her over to the computer looking at the board saying, "Come look at this guitar", or "Read what this person posted on the board", etc., etc. and she's always saying "Yeah, yeah, all you boys and girls and your guitars~" On Saturday we were fortunate to spend time with some good friends who used to live down here, they took us down to a beach, walked in the Connecticut woods on Sunday morning.....
On the way home my wife kept saying, "I'm so glad I came, I'm so glad I came" and she is ready to make plans for next year!!!! |

Seriously, I loved getting up on stage with you and even jumping in on harmony on Knockin' on heavens Door. Also thanks for helping me get up my nerve to do Steamroller Blues. It's been about 6 or 7 years since i did the song-but with you guys there beside me it all felt natural and fun!
all of the other jam participants really did a great job too. It was meant to celebrate our love for Ovations and our love for music-it's the common bond that kinda makes us all family.
It's an eventand a great feeling i'm not going to

That way, his Honory Texican status is complete.
as far as Moody goes-That would be a fun Jam :D |
