| Please has Anyone had experience with the Adamas 597 cvt guitars, needing an acoustic to play acoustic jazz and also plug in at church. Am finding it impossible to find one to play. Also has anyone had any experience with guitar traders. They have great prices for drop shipped straight from factory which seems a great way to do it. Any feedback would be appreciated

Location: SE Michigan | I just picked up a new Adamas CVT w597 in cobalt blue. It is a beautiful guitar. The sound is a bit unique compared to wood guitars, I would describe it as shimmery. It is kind of like the quality of brand new phospher bronze strings. Maybe I would say a slight fuzz quality to the sound. It took a little getting used to, but the more I play it the better I like the sound. It also has great sustain and the individual notes seem very consistant up and down the neck. I like to play in a semi-percussive style and this guitar responds well to some thumping and has great bass reponse.
Quite honestly you can get great sound out of the wood top models for less money, but what sold me is the durability factor. I can leave this guitar out on a stand and not worry about temprature and humidity. It really should last the rest of my life with no fuss. My model 1717 wood top Legend (while a great guitar) has developed a small top crack that will only get worse. I bought the Adamas for the great sound but also to have a guitar that I dont have to worry about. I think it would be an excellant choice for your church and jazz purposes. |

| Thx for the responses guys. Yes I should have mentioned that Im tired of humidity problems. My dupont that I just sold developed a crack the day I got it home from humidity change. My 41 L7 has no problems with humidity changes it seems although im carefull to keep it humidified in the winter. It will be great to just leave it out on a stand for as long as I want. Im going to take the plunge as soon as the check clears from the dupont sale. Im going to do a drop ship from Guitar trader, there is not one to play in the state of NC as far as I could tell.

Location: SE Michigan | I had the same problem trying to find an Adamas in a shop to test drive. They are as rare as Black Republicans. The nice thing is that because of the graphite top you are avoiding a lot of the quality variations you might see in an all wood guitar. If there were any guitar I would take a chance on buying unseen and unplayed it would be an Adamas.
