Is there any significant difference between "phospher bronze" acoustic strings and "80/20" bronze strings?
I've been using D'Addario EJ-16s (phospher bronze) pretty exclusively for the last 4-5 years and I really like 'em a lot, both for tone and longevity. But this past week, while visiting a local music store, I ran across a bin filled with Darco 80/20's at two sets for $5. I bought a dozen sets, but before I break 'em open I wanted to solicit some opinions from my Ovation brethren. Do you all think I'll experience any significant differences in tone or longevity by using the 80/20s instead of phospher bronze strings?
Appreciate your thoughts...

The J16 are pretty hard to beat although I do like the elixers for slide, the bar doesn't make as much noise. |
