Welcome to the group. You should be able to learn quite a bit about Ovations here as well as your guitar.

If you go to the reference page, you should be able to figure out when your guitar was built. There is also, I think info on what the numbers in the model number indicate. If I had to guess, I'd say you have a deep bowl non cutaway Legend, with an OP 24 preamp. It has the "A" bracing pattern which means it has a really balanced ton. A very good guitar.

As to value, it's worth whatever you paid for it,and if you sell it, whatever somebody else will pay. That's a hard question. Some here will put a price on it, but watch ebay and you'll get an idea over time. In the meantime, if you like it, it's priceless.

Welcome aboard! As Moody Stated You'll find a wealth of knowledge here from the board members. You'll also get a laugh or two from time to time.
We all seem to go crazy once in a while.
It seems like moody may have already answered your question, but check the reference section.

An auction for an L717 with case and an OP-X preamp recently ended on eBay for a bit over $400 plus shipping. That seems a pretty good deal for a Legend.
