Believe me, it's worth the wait!
Oh, yeah, I forgot you've been waiting years... ;) |

Brown arrived at 4:30 pm and delivered an undamaged package (longest I've ever held my breath) which I promptly opened.
Inside the myriad of foam peanuts (and it opened from the side) was a vintage three latch brown Ovation case wraped in a plastic bag...Finally, freed it from the package prison and set it on my couch to anticipate how well my first Craigs List turned out...I opened the case and: There is was...the one last remaining Ovation I had wanted in my youth and was never able to get...
Gingerly I took it out of the case and examined it for damage: could not find any...Checked again: To be fair: there is one very small ding on the back of the headstock down near the nut (not an issue), one very small cresent finish crack (about 1" long on the bottom top where my arm rests---I could not get it to photograph...(again, not an issue), and thats it! The bottom strap button (and locking nut) were missing: good to have spares: I actually had one vintage button and spider nut and now its like it was always there. It looks like the original strings might have been on the guitar: the guitar has not been played a lot in its lifetime (the original owner told me that for the past 20 years it had basically stayed in the case)...Label needed some glue in the upper right hand corner which I added and now it's good as new...Fretboard was a mess: gross! I took a piece of scotch brite pad and a little oil: bubb, bubb: good as new (clean and shiney frets again)...wiped up the excess oil and polished the guitar w/orange Pledge Polish, and buffed it to a shine...New set of D'Addario Lt. ga. and tuned it up: played it for nearly an hour: sounds very sweet: I think it's a bit tight and will open up with time played!
So after all that, here is the final product:
Music\'s 1776-4
Worth the Wait! I love it! |

| Mike, If the case only has three latches, it sounds like you have been shorted a latch and should return it for a refund. Or, maybe it is a one-off prototype case. |

I do have an earlier 3 latch case w/purple interior in mint condition...I'll try to get some pic's of both cases...this one for the Patriot has some damage: a few chips in the plastic outer shell but the interior is very nice and all (4) latches work well. |

"nanny nanny do do"... :D
Played the Patriot for the kids last night and they loved it...now that I've had a chance to play it for the second time, I have to say it really does have a beautiful tome...it may be the light ga. strings but it can get mellow and is very reactive to how it is played...a very nice guitar... |
