I was wondering if any of you might advise me on the chords for the Wedding March. I would prefer chords as opposed to tabs. I have to play the piece this Saturday at a Wedding.
It is usually played at the exit of the bride and groom...ending the formal ceremony.
Appreciate your help.

The 'Wedding March' is for after Titiania (the queen of fairie) turns one of the lost males into an ass (burro type, not the other) and marries him.
I've always wondered if someone was making a joke the first time it was used at a real wedding and it got changed into the use it has now. |

Then Titiania & her "husband" opened to a packed house in Tijuana every Saturday night & lived happily ever after.

We played for the wedding of a member of our bluegrass band and club at Poway lake in the 70's and did "Ode to Joy" and the wedding song, led by our youngest banjo player who was also a classical musician and could read music quite well. It sounded great but I cannot remember any of the chord changes as I have never done it again.
We did a string band version of those classics as they went through the ceremony and it sounded slmost like an orchestra, as soon as they said "I do", we whipped into "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" at warp speed as the man that was marrying was our regular banjo player and that was one of his favorites. It was a great wedding by all who attended, and we played bluegrass from then on, as I said, I have never done the wedding songs again so I lost all that practicing over the years, but I still remember that beautiful day at Poway Lake.

My all-time favorite version of Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" was the old black & white film version with Jimmy Cagney, Joe E. Brown, and a young Mickey Rooney as "Puck".
(I'm not positive, but I think that the Three Stooges did a "cameo" on it as well) Hadn't seen it since I was a kid.
I seem to remember the Beatles doing a scene from it on the old "Rolling Stones' Rock & Roll Circus" as well.

Location: Upper Left USA | When I saw the tab I worked through it and although I realized it was not the Wedding march I didn't put it together. I must rely too much on my mind's ear more than just following the directions and listening to the results. Too many hours at the tape recorded replaying tunes to learn I guess.
