I'm off to pick up our new vehicle, a Scion XB.

I can relate it to guitars as I'll have to use it tonight to haul all my gear to rehearsal!!

And I've been waiting for a good spot to put the Ovation sticker we got at the tour!!!! :D

Scion was designed to appeal to Toyota's younger buyers. These should catch on as they have Toyota's build quality, and for now there is only the XA car and the XB van. Cool choice, I know you will like it.

... this brings up a curious question:

Which smells better? A new car or a new LX?

The suntan lotion is merely a component of the complete "melange". ;)

Well, geez, I like the turn this thread has taken. We went to get our new XB and they ordered the wrong transmission! Wife wants a 5-speed, wife gets a 5-speed. They just called me and managed to get the right one in today...

The '81 Pacemaker I bought has a very unique smell, not a bad smell. the previous owner said it spent most of the last few years in the case.....

That would be the odiferous wafting of binary resin. Sitting in the case will allow it to gather as well.

So will some "airing out" reduce the aroma?

Well, you guys can seriously disintegrate a thread in no time!!!

The dealer got us the car we wanted on Friday, right color (blue onyx)and the right transmission (5-speed).

Just to give you an idea of the passenger space, I'm able to get my Legend in OHSC and Applause Mando in case on the floorboard of the back seat - I had a Isuzu Trooper before and I could barely get my Legend OHSC on the floorboard of the back seat. Of course there is not as much cargo room, but you just put the seats down!! And at over twice the gas mileage.....

Now I just gotta get used to people pointing at me with this strange look on thier face when I'm driving around.

Of course this is when my wife lets me drive it around!!

:D

I bought one of the first Chrysler mini-vans in '84. I know what you mean about "looks" on the road.

I've only seen one other one and it was at the Minyard's grocery store two blocks from our house!

I'll have to get a pic posted.
