That's where I used to stop for an A&W root beer in a mug that was frozen, one of life's greatest treats on a hot Texas day, on my way from San Marcos AFB to San Antonio in 1954. Went through there also on our way to Boy's Town in Laredo, another story altogether.
My favorite part of US of A.

The A&W stand is gone now.
Trivia: Anyone know what movie was filmed in Converse, TX? Bailey, give other people a chance to answer! :D |

Hey what do a divorce and a tornado in Texas have in common?
They both mean that someone is going to loose a trailer! ;) |

The Last Picture show was filmed in a small Texas town, Archer City, a short drive from Wichita Falls. A sequel to it was also filmed there, the reason being that the author of both was from Archer City, Larry McMurtry.
