I LOVE my '97 Collector's...never will we part. That FRG sticker is so darned CONSPICUOUS though! I know this borders on the unethical, but will the FRG sticker police come and take me away if I remove it? More importantly...how can I do so without making a mess in that spot?? Is there a little ink sack under there that will explode if I try to remove it?? John <>{

If the sticker bugs you and nothing will explode, then remove it. It is only unethical if you can and do remove it and then try to sell it without stating that it is FRG. I wonder if this is why they now stamp it as reconditioned?

Reach in and peel it away slowly. It will tear and all that but try to get the biggest pieces. Then take a rag with alcohol or some solvent and rub the rest clean. be careful the solvent rag doesn't get the other lables. good luck.

When the time comes for your heirs to enjoy this instrument any warrantee - full or limited - will no longer be in effect. The FRG sticker is conspicuous for the original purchase - and rightfully so. After that, it makes no difference since the first owner of anything has the opportunity to screw with things and keep it a secret.

On that line - go ahead and remove the "DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF LAW" labels from you pillows and Beanie babies. If we did everything we we were told we'd never make it out of the shower, ala, Lather, Rinse, Repeat! :rolleyes:

Sirens, or Star Trek Red Alert Sounds went off during the removal.
I was kinda dissapointed! :D :rolleyes:

Lol...I'm crying from laughing here. Aw man... gotta share this. Back in the early 80's there was a company that offered printed condoms, as a way to boost sales when condom use was not as widespread as today. They used to run ads in the low-low life male visual magazines...way back in the tiny ad sections (think it was a rag called "Prince"). My pals of the day and I decided that it would be a fitting thing to have printed "DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF LAW" on a gross of condoms and give them as a wedding gift, as a gag, to one of our crowd who was unfortunately giving up his singledom.

After his honeymoon, the REAL joke came when he said he diddn't get it. I was like what? Ya know like on a pillow. He was lost. Then he asked "What does Remove Under Penalty of Law" mean?

I'm so damn slow and thought they screwed up the printing, but.... 'fraid not.

We called him Shorty from that day on, but to his defense those things were about big enough to fit a section of PVC pipe (proably why they needed a gimmick to sell em).

An aquaintance once boasted that he had a tattoo in a particular place that read "OK". It saved time during his Army physical.

If he was in a really good mood it read "Oklahoma"!

On rare moments it was reported to read
"O-o-o-o-klahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plain..."

. . . . a man and his new bride are on their honeymoon at a nude beach in Jamaica.
The man notices a rather "well-endowed" Jamaican man standing at the outdoor bar. Not wanting his new wife to see him and compare him to her new husband's "innadequacy?", he steers her to a beach chair and offers to fetch the drinks himself.
While waiting for his drinks, he eyes up the Jamaican guy and notices that he has a "strategic" tattoo that says "Wendy". In an effort to make small-talk, the guy mentions that he "noticed" this guy's tattoo and says it's quite a coincidence as his new bride is named "Wendy".

The Jamaican guy smiles and says:
". . No Mon, . . it don't say "Wendy", . . . it says "Welcome to Jamaica, Mon . . . . Have a Nice Day" . . . ."

Let's see if I can sum this up: don't let Uncle Otto remove the FRG stickers from Jamaican condoms?

Since I started this thread I'll drift a little, too. Two years ago our house burned down, and we lost EVERYTHING. Several months later, we bought an old farmhouse and started the LOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGG process of buying everything(read: EVERYTHING). My wife and I gleefully spent lots of time cutting all the tags off furnature, pillowe, blankets, dozens and dozens of tags!!! It's an experience a person rarely comes across, and one of the silver linings in an otherwise painfull chapter in our lives. John <>{

Thank Goodness you came through it all. Life has a funny way of dealing us all Rotten Hands Now & Then. I guess I'd have to be thankful that noone lost their life.
Glad to have you on the board My Ovation Brother. :)

I don't know what to tell Al or any of you vile criminals, have you no respect for the LAW that keeps society together. I, for example, failed to wash my hands in a restaurant bathroom in 1957 and, of course, turned my self in to the proper authorities. I am presently doing 10 to life but know I have protected society from people of my criminal proclivity. I would suggest you all turn yourselves in and rid society of it's criminal element.

Hizzoner will get you anyway if you don't.

Something is flowing allright. I bought a 6 pack at Wal-Mart, and, guess what, I DIDN'T SHOW THE CLERK ANY ID.

In NM that will get the clerk and I 20 years if we are caught.

BWAHAAHAAHAA, the petty little chintzy criminal strikes again, no place in my world for you tag removeral amateurs, do real crime and do the time.
