Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | I stand in awe of my OFC brethren, Mr. Templeman & Mr. Moody. They told me my 1111 (BTW, in the gallery) appeared to be an amalgum of a '60's neck and an '80's body. Based on this ebay listing, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33029&item=3726072080&rd=1, they appear to be right!

Location: SoCal | Beautiful guitar. For O players, a definite collectors item. I love the wood grain on the neck. Keep in mind that the seller said there were some cracks in the face. It might need to go to the factory for some work.
On another note, an Artist Balladeer just sold on ebay for $260. I bought my first one in 1972 for $295. They haven't gone done that much over 30 years.
Of course, at that price, there's not much room to go down. |

That is a distinct looking Ovation! Looks like the Sock Monster is letting one out into the daylight.
Would the soundboard be 2 each halves or three piece? If it's been in the case that long do you think the bowl is good and smelly? A "summer of 68" bouquet no less! |

Location: SoCal | It was built in mid to late 1968 which is about the time Ovation went from a 3 to a 2 piece top. Odds are that it's a 2 piece top, but I can't tell of looking at it. Kinda looks like a three piece. |

It's a pity that few that look at it will realize what a piece of history it is, maybe!

Seesquare - It already exists in Phoenix AZ (ha ha). And yes I did say "most" Pauls ...
The guitar is question is identical to one that I own (see gallery). Yes, it's very nice and a good piece of history. But sonically, it seems to come up just short of the Deluxe and Glen Campbell models of the same era, but that's just my opinion. As far as 2 piece top vs. 3 piece I've got identical guitars (Deluxe Balladeers) of each type and honestly can hear no difference between them. |
