Date is still TBD as far as I can tell, but keep an eye out for this:

GUITAR GODS

This June, a spectacular gathering of blues, rock, and jazz guitar greats will perform together on one concert stage, as the culminating event of Eric Clapton's three-day Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas. GREAT PERFORMANCES presents highlights from the all-day concert at the Cotton Bowl featuring a once-in-a-lifetime showcase of guitar luminaries performing rock 'n' roll and blues classics. Joining Clapton will be fellow axe legends Robert Cray, Carlos Santana, Steve Vai, Jimmy Vaughan, Joe Walsh, Buddy Guy, B. B. King, Brian May, Eric Johnson, J. J. Cale, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Pat Metheny, Hubert Sumlin, Dan Tyminski, Larry Carlton, Otis Rush, and Doyle Bramhall II, all backed by house bands led by Clapton, Vaughan, and Booker T & The MG's.

No, no, no...the date has been firm for a couple of months. It is the weekend of June 4-6. All three days there will be access to Guitar Center Village - trade show kinda thing and workshops. Malmsteen, George Lynch, Nuno Bettencort, and Tony Franklin are confirmed for the workshops on Saturday. The concert is Sunday from noon to ??? (probably 11pm if they have sound ordinances).

Also, Brian May pulled out, but James Taylor, Jeff Beck, and John McLaughlin have been added.

I've had my tickets for three weeks. Let me know if anyone wants to meet. It would be nice to put faces with some of these names.

Looks like Great Performances will film the show and show it later this year.

My family and I will be down at the Kerrville Folk Festival, so can't make it to the Crossroads show....

Cool, I'll be looking for it.
I don't know if any of you caught the BB King workshop on the Ovation network (Yes in NYC there's the OVATION channel #83 or 82) anyway, he said two interesting things (amongst many, but my mind has a very small harddrive) which I'll paraphrase:
1)If it weren't for the invention of the Fender electric bass there would be no rock 'n roll as we know it, and,
2) When he plays, he is actually singing with his hands, that's why he will play or sing but never at the same time, but when he's playing not only is he singing, he's trying to emulate a slide guitar, that's why he's always doing those trills.

Cliff,

Don't overlook the scale factor. Look at the scale factor relationship between Adam and God.... might be something to consider...

I am by nature hard to please - and I have never, not once, ever, posted any of those acronyms about laughing. But Damn, Cliff. That's the mostest bestest funnierest thing I have seen in my whole internet life.

In the past I have said that Cliff's antics are "priceless." Well, if I know Al and Jersey, I think there is a "price" being negotiated on the docks right now for exactly how much Cliff is worth.

You're all going to hell, but you will meet some great people there. That picture should be painted on the ceiling at the Ovation break room.

I didn't see this yesterday (yes, I do go out and work once in a while).

The picture is not accurate. Way too scrawny to be my body (unfortueately, got the privates about right -- damn).

But I would never get that close to a nakid Al.

I don't believe it, I just heard a shrill, feminine voice shriek:

"A MAUVE NIGHTIE-IS WAL-MART HAVING A SALE??"

And my Mother In Law thundered past me and out the door.
