Read thru the note I sent the seller, take a look at the auction, and then tell me if the answer to my question makes any sense.

This is the response:
The neck is the old type with the steel bar in it and the electronics are top of the line. Plus its brand new so it dosen't matter how old it is its never been played except to tune it. HH |

Location: Tucson, Arizona | It's a nice looking guitar, but stay away from this, right guys? The slot head makes me think this should be a nylon/classic string guitar, right? I'd like to get my hands on something like this if the price is right.
Based on what everyone has said in this string, though, I should keep my distance from this one...?

Location: Phoenix AZ | Absolutely no question about it - the guitar in the photo is a nylon strung classical, probably model 1713. And there is no way it will fetch the BIN price of $1200.
Many (all?) of the grey oval labels with the watermark of the factory building contain both the model number AND the name of the guitar. i.e. my Folklore Deluxe says "FD-14" and right under that says "Folklore Deluxe". For a while in the catalogs under the Legend section, a nylon strung classical version was described (1713). My guess is that this guitar on ebay is a model 1713, but also on the label says "Legend". So the seller is not really crazy - the guitar label probebly DOES say Legend on it and the guitar really IS a Legend, although a different version of Legend then we usually think of. If you check your catalogs, I think you'll see what I mean.
But here is the real question. Which is wrong? The photos? or the Description? If you win the auction do you get the guitar in the photos (a nice clasical) or is the photo wrong and you get what is described (a steel string guitar)?
Anyway, the price is way out of line either way. They could probably get not more than $500 for it at the best. |
