Location: Tampa, Florida | Is there any easy way to remove an OP-24+ preamp? I'm trying to get rid of a hum that I think is coming from the preamp area. I see that there are a few screws on top when looking from the inside.

Location: NJ | pull up the paste on face plate on each corner take out the phillips screws drop the whole mess into the body take it out the trap door on an elite or the soundhole on a legend balladeer. |

Location: Tampa, Florida | Thats sounds pretty straightforward. :) I was afraid I'd have to try to unscrew it from the inside.
One more question- do the slider knob things pop off, or will I have to cut the face plate?
Also, now that I think of it, any advice on putting the faceplate back on?

Location: Tampa, Florida | Thanks, guys. I successfully removed the preamp and battery compartment, as well as put them back in. :) UNfortunately, the hum was there even w/o the preamp and battery thing, so I'll have to look elsewhere. :( It's not the audio jack either; I held that while picking and the hum was the same. I'm thinking that it could be coming from the piezo crystals in the pickup. Has anyone had any experience with the indivdual pickup elements or making a vibration?

Location: Tampa, Florida | It's more of a buzz, I guess. Not fret buzz, but kind of an quasi-rattle, the kind of a sound a broken light bulb makes except louder. It sounds slightly metallic. Maybe something in the truss rod? It does sound like its coming from the body, though. Its worse unplugged than plugged. I can usually barely hear it when its connected to my amp. |

Location: NJ | play the guitar with one hand, start placing your other hand on different parts of the guitar until you can isolate the buzz. when you press on say the top and the buzz goes away you have a loose brace, if you press on a tuning gear you may have a loose tuner. keep doing this and by the process of elimination you will find your problem |
