I just really need to know :D

I used to have this old rag in my case, but it started falling apart & leaving threads everythere, so I threw it out. I just want something in there to wipe down the strings with after playing. I suppose I could go find another kitchen rag on its way out...

Old towls are good. The golf courses put one on each golf cart. Of course you are supposed to leave it but they work great on guitars, or drying cars, or.......

Well laundered Tea towels or any 100% cotton after a bzillion washes.

Cotton Tees worn by young German Women, Any bandana from the 60's and the afore mentioned Golf towels (if they are good for your balls they'll be ok for your guitar).

But the prize towel - You can go to garage sales or second hand stores and pick up well washed baby blankets also known as wabbees, goo-goos or blankies. It will be difficult to keep them if you steal them from your own kids.

cwk2.....So YOUR the guy who's been filching the towels!!!

Some years ago, I got a huge bag of white terry "shop towels" from Costco. They still carry them occasionally. DONT use the red shop towels unless you wash them in hot water and some bleach (like white laundry) first, by themselves, at leat twice. Those red towels bleed the color something fierce, and end up a nice soft pink. But, they work well too, though the white terry ones are better. You can even just barely wiggle the towels under the strings on your Ovation and get the back side too. If you try that on a Martin you'll have to quadruple fold the towel.....

Cloth baby diapers. Yes they still make cloth ones. I think some babies are allergic to the disposable ones. They work great on guitars.

That's the best one liner I've heard in a long time.

I'm just glad no one said they went to MusiciansBestFriend.com and bought the $10 postcard-sized really-official-because-it-has-their-logo-on-it guitar cleaning cloth.

I knew there was a better way.

I bought one of those big ol' bales of white terry towels from Costco as well (I think it's something like 48 towels). Laundered them a bunch of times to get 'em nice & soft and have them stowed in my gig closet. I throw two into my bag whenever I leave for a gig to mop me sweaty face and keep my hands clean/dry. When they start to wear out, they go into the bin in the garage to towel-dry the Cruiser.

If you want something really good to wipe down your guitar with: CHAMOIS!
It's a bit of an "investment", but well worth it.
Buy a "real" chamois (not one of those nuevo, space-age fabric ones) in a good auto shop. After you use it for a while, it gets soft & supple. When you wipe down your neck & top with it, it makes 'em "shine"! Best of all, they don't take up a lot of space in your guitar case. You can just fold it in half, drape it over the soundhole/bridge area and close the case up.

They also last forever.

I was planning on using undergarments that the girls at my gigs would throw at me. Boy are my guitars dirty!
