Location: Scotland | The Storms do not really bear comparison to the Gibson. Thy are fundamentally different in several respects, including neck-to-body joint, lack of centre-block (except the 330) & pickups.
The "best" is the Thunderhead, but the only real diference between that and the cheaper Tornado is the pickups & neck decoration. The T-head has USA-made DeArmond pickups & fancier inlays on a bound neck while the Tornado has Schaller pickups on an unboubd dot-neck. Either of the 2 can be had for around the price of a used Epiphone "Dot" so it's a no-brainer. A '68 Thunderhead is one of my primary stage guitars. |
