Last week I was asking for advice about an Elite or a Balladeer.
I have been playing a Washburn for the last 10 years which I have enjoyed playing.Next Tuesday
(22nd June) is my 50th and my wife asked me what I really would like.(She knew what I would say)
Today my new Elite Special 868 arrived I have been allowed to open this birthday present early and it is beautiful and plays like a dream.

Its good that I have you guys to share my good news with 'cos you really understand.

Thanks for your advice and the good topics

Robert,
Congrats on your New Ovation. It'll give you years of enjoyment. Beware Though. One Ovation Purchase will make you want another and another and another. Nothing wrong with that. Every Ovation Guitar deserves The good Company of More Ovations. :D
Congrats again and have a Happy Birthday!!

Robert...

I can relate. It's a great day when the new Ovation guitar arrives!

I just got my Balladeer about 3 weeks ago for my 40th (6/11) birthday. Same deal...I got to open it a little early.

Best wishes...

Rob

Today was the first time I have used my Elite in public - As a local Methodist minister I lead many local school worship/assemblies (something that wouldn't be allowed in the US)

One of the parents had tipped them off that it was my birthday-The children gave a me a card and a present and sang Happy birthday!

They wanted to know what I had got as a birthday presentand I was delighted to say that I have a new guitar- when I took out my new Ovation they said WoWwww! especially when I 'plugged it in'

I couldn't have asked for a better start to my birthday- the guitar was a dream to play one of my best birthday presents ever.!!

Congrats..........I just ordered myself a Ovation Elite LX. My first as well. I have been playing a Walden D550T Natura for about 4 months. I am new to the guitar playing world. I have made decent success and wanted a acoustic/electrical and even though am very new to playing thought that the Elite LX would be a lifelong guitar. I plan on keeping the Walden because it would be almost impossible to get rid of it since it is my first and fact wife got it for my B'Day. I played the LX at a local store and found it to have an amazing almost hypnotical sound. I think I made the best decision for me.

Happy Birthday! Nice to know that Ovation is being used for worship over there. Doing some Matt Redman or Martin Smith or Tim Hughes tunes?

Is your church running an Alpha course?
