Location: Tampa, Florida | I think I have officially caught the Ovation bug. I love my 6778LX and 1778T (and my Applause uke :p ). I have really liked my Ovations in the past, no vintage ones, but all of mine have seemed to just leave a little something to be desired. But not these two! The acoustic sound is superb (as it was on my Adamas W597) and plugged in, hey! I really want a 12 fret slothead Adamas, but those don't seem to be coming soon. So I settled ;) on the same model number (W681 TA5), a deep bowl textured top non cutaway all acoustic Adamas 14 fret in black from Al. I am really looking forward to it. Any thoughts on the export textured top vs, CVT and SMT Adamas? The deep bowl non cutaway vs the traditional mid depth cutaway? I will be installing some type of passive UST pickup in it, most likely a Fishman Natural II. Any thoughts on the pickup? Thanks and I look forward to hammerin' away on this thing!
BTW I am selling my Martin CEO 4 guitar to purchase it. I have been told I would be a fool to sell the Martin. Well...... |

Location: Tampa, Florida | Man, I always have GAS! It has to subside. I love the Ovations. Don't see me getting rid of any of these. I do still have one "wood" guitar left, a Yairi DY84 Koa. I don't think I'll be able to part with it, though. Cigars? We are expecting a baby in February! Maybe then! Anyone know any good lullabies? |

Location: SoCal | I think that the textured top export model is a better acoustic guitar than the SMT and CVT. This is tacky to say, but in my mind, it's more of a real Adamas.
If you don't want controls on the guitar, send the guitar to the factory and have them install the same pickup that they install on some of their overseas models. Or go all the way and have them put in an OP Pro. |

This was a return to the Mother Ship for a blem on the top. Al had a few... He made a deal I could't refuse. As for sound and feel. The best.
Al might still have one or two. This is the best deal in "O" land. Top of the line for less than an LX with all the trimmings. The blem's look like a milk spot... Paint might not have curred?
This is one sweet... I already said that.

Location: Tampa, Florida | There is bad news...Al emailed me and said the black one on his site is gone! He forgot to take it off his site. I asked (begged) him to please try to find another black one. The reverse burst thing isn't for me. Man!!! |

Location: NJ | Please accept my apology. I cannot believe this. I sincerly thought I had another textured in -5 and I don't. I have about 60 ovation/Adamas guitars in my storage. I went through almost every case to make sure that none were mislabeled. I spent almost 2 hours going through guitars.
I have textured tops in a bunch of other colors but not black.
sorry |

Location: NJ | Being one of the very few mortals "privledged" enough to actually SEE Al's extensive inventory, I can vouch that I can see where an oversight like this can be (remotely) possible, and that it WOULD infact take AT LEAST two hours for Al to check.
When John(Strumming12) and I were there "roadtesting" these Adamases, we tried out a BUNCH! I know you're kinda set on the black, but ALL of these guitars are REALLY cool, and a HELLUVA bargain for the price! . . . |

Location: Tampa, Florida | :( I am a little bummed out-I really wanted that guitar. But Al is still the man. He does a ton for us "O"fficianados. I asked him to keep an eye out for another balck one. There is an upside, though. I found a new Legend LX for a great price, and had enough left over to pick up an Ibanez hollowbody. |
