Location: Irvine, CA | Hi all!
I have just ordered a 6778 LX (NEB) from www.massmusic.net for $649. I think it's a great deal considering all other web-stores sell it for $849. I have tried it at Guitar Center in Lake Forrest (CA) and I thought the guitar sounded even better than most of the CF Martin guitars I have played.
Oh yeah...and one thing that confused me was the different dealers specs on the spruce-quality. Music123 and a couple of other dealers claim that the guitars they sell has an AA-grade sitka spruce top while Ovation says that all the 6778 LX'es they have made are A-grade's.
I guess it's just a small detail but it's a bit irritating that store who call them self authorized dealers makes these kind of mistakes and that they are not willing to admit that this is wrong either (ref a phonecall with Music123).
Well right now I'm just looking forward to receiving my new guitar. (I guess I'll get it some time next year).
btw...Paul (I'm the Norwegian guy you met at Guitar Center in Lake Forrest sometime late May i think)

I remember you! Congratulations on the new guitar. I remember listening to you play the LX (I think it was a Legend), both acoustically and thru an amp. Those have a great sound.
Let me know how you like it when it arrives. You'll have it next week? |

Yeah ...next week...not next year. hehehehehe
I'm looking forward to it so much that my head is spinning and I'm thinking that waiting 5 days is like waiting for a year...heheheh

Where in Irvine are you? The company I work for (Tetra Tech) has an office on Laguna Canyon Road and I get down there from time to time (I work in the Ontario Office).... maybe we could get together sometime. |

I live in Irvine (close to the 73) and I work in Costa Mesa. I'm always up for a jam-session.
I play just about anything (blues, jazz, pop, rock, metal, folk music). Gotta admit that I'm not that much into country-music though...and I don't play much classical music.

You will LOVE the 6778LX. Mine is an awesome guitar. Thanks for the tip about Massmusic. Based on your recommendation, I ordered a Legend LX from them just a little while ago ($779)! |

Does Ovation make a nylon string LX with the epaulets? |
